It has been rightly said, “Art gives expression to our aesthetic abilities.” It is important for the students to be imaginative, creative and think out-of-the box. With the perspective of developing the artistic skills of the students, an activity ‘Leafy Animals’ was conducted on Wednesday, 31 July 2019 wherein the students designed greeting cards with different animals on them using different types of leaves.
Firstly, students were segregated and guided to sit in groups to discuss about the animals. The instructions were provided to design animals like rabbits, elephants, mice, butterflies and deer using different leaves, googly eyes and decorative material as per their creativity and imagination.
Thereafter, the students were assessed on the following criteria:
- Presentation
- Creativity
- Knowledge applied
- Coordination
Overall, the students learnt to improve their teamwork, communication and social skills as they cooperated and communicated to complete their tasks together.
