“When I despair, I remember that all through history, the way of truth and love always won. The wrong doers might seem invincible, but in the end, they always fall.”

These wise words certainly convey the true message of Gandhi Jayanti and Dussehra. Maxfort School, Rohini celebrated Gandhi Jayanti and Dussehra with patriotic fervor and festive zeal on 29th and 30th September 2022 respectively.

To celebrate the power of righteousness, the students of Grade X under the able guidance of our Principal, had the privilege of presenting a special assembly on 29th September 2022 on ‘Gandhi Jayanti’. Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, born on 2nd October 1869 is still remembered and cherished as a person who was incredibly responsible for achieving freedom for our nation. His ideas still resonate in people’s minds. The students made sincere efforts to give a deep insight into the life and times of Mahatma Gandhi and were encouraged to choose the road less travelled and adopt the Gandhian motto – Simple living and high thinking. The melodious vocal performance by the choir filled the ambience with a feeling of patriotism for our country and gratitude towards Bapu.

The Students of Grade IX presented a special assembly on 30 September 2022 to commemorate the festival of Dussehra. Also known as Vijayadashami, the festival celebrates Lord Rama’s victory over Ravana in a festival spread over ten days. The students highlighted the importance of the festival in today’s world. This auspicious day reminds people of the fact that truth always wins and motivates them to follow the path of dharma.

Enlightening speeches, poetry recitation and an enriching monologue by Ravana himself kept the audience engrossed throughout the presentation.

These special assemblies  were a great learning experience for one and  all, with an insight into our rich Indian culture of peace , non-violence, traditions, values and their applicability in the modern context.
