Celebrated Republic Day On 25 January 2024

Our republic and its ideals are not just about the past; they are about the choices we make today and the legacy we leave for tomorrow.”

Republic Day, a day of immense pride and historical significance, holds a special place in the heart of every Indian. Schools play a crucial role in instilling a sense of patriotism and civic consciousness in the younger generation. Being a focal point of this endeavour, the Republic Day celebration in school assembly can be an enriching experience for both students and teachers to understand creative ways to know how we should celebrate this national festival.

The distinctive atmosphere of patriotism and its true spirit was well spread in the school premises on Thursday, 25 January 2024 as the students of Grade XI presented special assembly to encapsulate the essence of this historic occasion and pay tribute to the visionaries who crafted our Constitution, laying the foundation for a sovereign, socialist, secular and democratic India. The glorious event commenced with honourable Principal ma’am, Dr. Ratna Chakravarty escorted by the Bagpiper’s band towards the flag-hoisting area. Afterwards revered ma’am unfurled the tri-colour flag and everyone sang the national anthem with beaming pride and love for the nation.

The harmonious notes of unity and freedom orchestrated the melody of our nation’s Republic Day by a rhythmic performance of the choir group. It was followed by insightful reflections and thoughts on this significant day through an inspiring speech and magical poetic expressions.  A skit presentation highlighting the views of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, the Father of Indian Constitution and Mrs. Vijaya Lakshmi Pandit , first woman to hold a cabinet position and the eventual depiction of modern India truly acquainted all with the ideals of the Constitution and  the power of our great nation.

Honourable Principal ma’am, Dr. Ratna Chakravarty enlightened the august gathering with her inspirational words. Respected ma’am highlighted the grandeur of the occasion celebrated with joy and happiness.  The students were apprised with the theme of this year’s Republic Day-”Developed India” and “Bharat-The Mother Of Democracy” and  the sloganClean India, Developed India”.Our great freedom fighters have struggled a lot to bring Purna Swaraj . Our country is a brilliant example of Unity in Diversity.  The students were greatly infused with the spirit of true values that make our nation extraordinary.

The assembly ended with a thought that Republic Day becomes a reminder that each student is a custodian of India’s legacy, and their actions contribute to the ongoing saga of the world’s largest democracy.

In the words of Mahatma Gandhi, “You must be the change you want to see in the world.”  Let this Republic Day be a step towards molding individuals who embody the change they wish to see in the future of our great nation and we continue to kindle the flame of patriotism in the hearts of every student, inspiring them to be not just citizens but conscientious torch bearers of the nation’s ethos.
