Maxfort School, Rohini is determined for the growth of the learners. Time and again, informative workshops are organised for the betterment of the Maxfortians. One such enriching session was organised on Saturday, 31 August 2019 which was attended by parents of Class X. The highlight of the day was to equip them with information about various career choices gaining popularity in the society today.
One’s career is one of the important assets of life. Choosing one and that too for the first time is one of the toughest decisions in life. As parents and teachers it is our responsibility to ease out this process for our children. Under the able guidance of our Principal ma’am, Dr. Ratna Chakravarty a platform was created for parents of students of Class X to understand the wide world of career options available. An eminent career counsellor and educationist, Mr. Jitin Chawla the director of centre for career development was invited to address the parents. He emphasized the necessity of choosing the career according to one’s interest and capability. Also, he cleared some of the misconceptions related to various careers which the parents follow as stereotypes. Parents came to know that sometime forcing their decision on children is because neither the child nor the parent is aware of the career options available. He also threw light on the various skills required for pursuing a particular career. An option for an aptitude test as a tool to understand the child’s mind set was also explained.
The session ended with highly helpful question and answer round. The session helped to clarify several issues regarding career options and reiterated the need to recognise one’s field of interest in order to make the right choice.
