The Science Department of Maxfort School, Rohini, proudly showcased its innovative spirit and scientific excellence at the Science and Mathematics Zonal Exhibition held on November 14, 2024, at Sarvodaya Vidyalaya, Sector 3, Rohini. Organized by the Directorate of Education (DOE) for Zone 13 schools, the event provided a platform to nurture creativity, scientific thinking, and problem-solving abilities among students.
The exhibition commenced at 10:00 AM with an inaugural ceremony graced by the Chief Guest. Students from government, private, and government-aided schools presented a variety of models, each reflecting the integration of classroom knowledge with real-life applications. Themes ranged across Food, Health & Hygiene, Transport & Communication, Natural Farming, Disaster Management, Waste Management, Resource Management, and Mathematical Modelling & Computational Thinking.
Representing Maxfort School, Class XI-A students Rijul Girotra and Akshara Sharma, under the guidance of Ms. Richa Chopra, presented an ingenious model titled “Aqua-shield” in the Disaster Management category. Their project focused on innovative flood control strategies aimed at extending evacuation time to save lives. Their exceptional work earned them the First Position in the Science Exhibition, outshining competitors from eight other schools.
In addition to the exhibition, Maxfort School also triumphed in the Science Seminar. Prisha Garg, a Class X-F student, mentored by Ms. Ruby Chiripal, captivated the judges with her compelling presentation and secured the First Position.
The event was a testament to the school’s commitment to fostering a scientific temperament and preparing students for the future. It encouraged students to embrace sustainability, inclusivity, and innovation in their projects, nurturing their confidence and creative thinking.
