Education is an enlightenment of oneself to achieve maximum benefit in life by using all the senses and brings out holistic growth in a person. There are different ways to provide education to the students. Out of which the most creative and alive is conducting educational excursions. Maxfort School , Rohini organised an educational excursion for a group of 55 students of Class XII to Kiran Nadar Museum of Arts, Saket on Saturday, 16 November 2024. The Facilitators escorted the students. The objective was to bring the students close to eminent artworks, reduce stress of everyday life and to impart knowledge.
As per NEP 2020, the educational excursion benefitted the students as it served as an exquisite experiential learning experience. It also provided an integrated learning opportunity as it depicted integration with Social Science, Science, Mathematics, Art and Craft and Languages.
The students visited the vibrant art exhibition entitled, “The Elemental You” by the prolific contemporary artists Simryn Gill, Neha Choksi and Hajra Waheed. The substantial works covered all elements of nature focusing on Sustainable Development and motivated the students to own accountability for their actions towards the Mother Planet, Earth. “The Elemental You “, unfolds along three intertwined pathways-to think like a mountain, survival as revival and clearing the thought process. The displayed artefacts engaged everyone in sincere pondering with the pivotal works of rocks, stones, sand, plants, trees, fruits, light, curtains, pebbles, animals and glass.
The quintessential experience was a revelation to the students about new ways of comprehending their curriculum and they were mesmerised by the unique pieces of display and their serene beauty. Eventually, it turned out as a certainly valuable experience pand motivated the students to pursue art and unleash their creativity for new beginnings and sustenance of the planet Earth.
