The unique ambiance of reverence for goodness and its capacity to triumph over malevolence permeated the school grounds, as the young Maxfortians were bestowed with the opportunity to take centre stage and deliver a special assembly in honour of the Dussehra festival on Tuesday, 8 October 2024. The special assembly was organised by the students of Grade XI. The aim was to enlighten the children about our ethical and cultural values, thereby celebrating the triumph of good over evil.
The special assembly was organised under the esteemed guidance of respected Principal ma’am, Dr. Ratna Chakravarty, aiming to encapsulate the essence of Dussehra. Known also as Vijayadashami, this festival marks the culmination of the nine-day Navaratri celebrations and commemorates Lord Rama’s triumph over Ravana over a span of ten days. The students emphasised the significance of this festival in contemporary society, reminding individuals that truth ultimately prevails.
The celebration commenced with lighting of the lamp, which infused the atmosphere with a sense of auspiciousness and inspiration. This was followed by the enchanting melodies of the choir, whose soulful performance served as a genuine expression of joy and unity. Honorable Principal ma’am, illuminated the esteemed gathering with her inspiring words, emphasising the significance of Navratri and the descent of Goddess Parvati to Earth to bestow blessings and protection upon her devotees. Her speech ignited a spark of inspiration, motivating everyone to aspire for excellence and embrace the cherished values of good will and optimism. Enlightening speeches and resonating dance captivated the gathering. The enriching skit was an inspiration from the great Indian epic , Ramayana. At the end, everyone was mesimerised with grandeur of festivity and prosperity for the festive season ahead.
