Celebrated Grandparents’ Day

“A Grandparent is a little bit parent, little bit teacher and a little bit friend.”

Grandparents are our heritage and essential members of our families and community. With an aim to thank them for their service to the society and the guidance to the new generation, Maxfort School, Rohini celebrated a gala event ‘Grandparent’s Day’ on Thursday, 7 February 2019 in the school premises. Grandparents are a family’s greatest treasure, the founders of a loving legacy, the greatest storytellers, the keepers of traditions. They are a family’s strong foundation. Through their special love and care, grandparents keep a family close at heart.

What children need most are the essentials that grandparents provide in abundance i.e their unconditional love, kindness, patience, humour, comfort and lessons in life.

The joyful day commenced with welcoming the grandparents followed by the auspicious lamp lighting ceremony. The students beautifully presented a song ‘Deva oh Deva’ especially for their grandparents. The dedicated children shared their views about the ‘Importance of grandparents in a Family’ .The event concluded with a foot tapping dance performance by the stupendous Maxfortians.
The highlights of the function were the interesting games in which the grandparents participated with great zeal and could remember their childhood days. The grandparents who were announced as the winnerswere greeted with gifts by the students which brought a twinkle to their eyes. Appropriate music and enthusiastic grandparent-grandchild combination made this event runaway hit with all those present. The school staff also interacted on a one-to-one basis with the guests, during the high tea arranged for them. The general mood was one of exultation and everyone seemed truly happy.
It was a successful and a meritorious event for all the dearest grandparents, the memories of which will remain in their hearts forever.
