INTERNATIONAL DANCE DAY WRITEUP

“We dance for laughter, we dance for tears, we dance for madness, we dance for fears, we dance for hopes, we dance for screams, we are the dancers, we create the dreams.”

                                                                                                                                       -Albert Einstein

Dance is the rhythmic showcase of emotions. The foot-tapping beats of dance rejuvenate us to eternity. In the year 1982, the Dance Committee of ITI declared 29 April as International Dance Day to honour Jean-Georges Noverre, creator of modern ballet. This celebration of dance is conducted every year on the birth anniversary of this renowned dancer.

“Ballet Boom Activity” was conducted in Grades VI-X to encourage the young learners bring out their inner dancers forefront on the stage. In this activity, the students performed some ballet moves like ballet turns, ballet jumps, pirouette and grade jete.

The Dance Instructor, Mr. Ali also discussed the history of ballet dance with the curious Maxfortians. It was highlighted that ballet-dance reinforces physical coordination, provides grace to the body, enhances mental strength and builds social skills and self-confidence.

This was a thrilling and mesmerizing experience that was relished by the enthusiastic students to the fullest.
