Maxfort School, Rohini is determined to infuse the students with patriotic zeal and fervour through the celebration of various national festivals. Wednesday, 14 August 2024 pervaded the ambience with love for our mighty land as the school celebrated 78th Independence Day. The students of Grade X presented a special assembly to honour the spirit of freedom and patriotism. The event was a blend of cultural performances, thought-provoking enactment and inspiring messages, making it a memorable experience for all.
The assembly began on a solemn note as the Bagpiper Band escorted respected Principal ma’am, Dr. Ratna Chakravarty for the much-awaited flag-hoisting ceremony. As the national flag was unfurled, the entire school stood up in honour, singing the national anthem with all heart and soul. Following the ceremony, the enthusiastic Bagpipers led the Head of School to the assembly area, where the rest of the programme unfolded.
The programme commenced with the music choir, who captivated the audience with their soulful and patriotic renditions. The melodious voices of the students resonated throughout invoking a sense of pride and reverence for the nation. The choir’s performance set a perfect tone for the day, as they sang patriotic songs that have been etched in the hearts of every Indian. Thereafter, respected Principal ma’am addressed the assemblage with her highly motivational words. In her insightful speech, she highlighted the theme of this year’s Independence Day, i.e. Viksit Bharat . Our revered leader also focussed on the “Nation First, Always First” notion coined by our honourable Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi. She encouraged the students to carry forward the legacy of freedom fighters by being responsible citizens and contributing positively to the society. Her words were a call to action for the young minds.
The next segment of the event was a Nukkad Natak (street play), performed by the talented artists. The play reflected the current societal scenario, focusing on the rampant corruption prevalent in various sectors. With a blend of humor and hard-hitting facts, the students effectively conveyed the message of integrity and honesty. The play served as an eye-opener, urging everyone to stand against corrupt practices and work towards a cleaner, more transparent society.
The assembly concluded with a vibrant and energetic dance performance. The foot-tapping music and synchronized movements of the dancers were a sight to behold. The dance was not only entertaining but also a deep remembrance of India’s patriotic grandeur. The performers, with their enthusiasm and grace, left the audience spellbound, adding a joyful and festive spirit to the Independence Day celebrations.
Eventually, the special assembly educated, inspired and enriched with the essence of independence making it memorable for all present.
