The epitome of noble thoughts and wisdom, Lord Buddha, once said that to keep the body in good health is a duty… otherwise we shall not be able to keep our mind strong and clear. And yoga is the befitting source to keep the body, mind and soul in unison. To reverberate the same spirit and to make the global citizens physically fit and healthy, 6th International Day of Yoga was celebrated on Sunday, 21 June 2020. This year it was celebrated digitally due to COVID-19 pandemic situation. The theme of the day was “My Life, My Yoga” which focuses on “Yoga at home, Yoga with family”.
India, the source of International Day of Yoga also celebrated it with great zeal and vigour with a wide-scale participation from people from every walk of life and different age groups. The school children also participated in this highly inspiring chain of activities with grit and determination. Maxfort School, Rohini showed full participation in this eventful day. Our respected Principal ma’am Dr. Ratna Chakravarty, enthusiastic Maxfortians and facilitators also performed yoga to get its benefits. As per the CBSE intructions and the guidelines of Ministry of Ayush, the school whole heartedly participated in the three highly informative and skillful programmes. The students were motivated to view the video message of honourable Prime Minister Modiji on the advantages of yoga. The Prime Minister shared that Yoga enhances our quest for a healthier planet. The students and staff members also viewed and participated in the live yoga session broadcasted on television at 7:00 am in the morning and a live fitness session onFit India you tube channel at 5:00 pm in the evening.It was certainly meaningful for everyone as there are a lot of things going on inour life simultaneously which might lead to stress. Yoga helpsus to reduce stress, improve the concentration and enhance the confidence level.
This year’s International Day of Yoga acquired a special aura as it conveyed the vital message of meditation and self-control to cope up with stress and remain physically and mentally fit in this hour of global crisis. Eventually, it revitalized the soul and being of the whole Maxfort family to remain self-motivated and remain healthy for the wider goal of optimism and insightful growth and development.
