Republic day in India is celebrated every year with great pride on 26th of January to honour the Constitution of India as it came into force on the same day in the year 1950. It had replaced the Government of India Act, 1935 into the governing document of India. We, the proud Indians will be celebrating the 70th Republic Day this year. Maxfort School Rohini celebrated this national festival on Friday, 25 January 2019 with great patriotic fervour and zeal. Special assembly was organised by Classes V-C, V-D and IX-E. The eventful day started with flag hoisting by respected Head mistress ma’am, Ms Neerja Anand and the rendition of national anthem. Thoughtful speech by the young students highlighted the significance of this great day. The young theatre artists presented an informative skit elaborating the fundamental rights of the citizens. Maxfortians also presented visual and vocal delights in form of dance and patriotic song performances.
Going with the patriotic fervour, various activities were organised for the students. The activities included ‘Proud to be an Indian’ for Grade Pre-School and ‘Budding Leaders’ for Grade Pre-primary to enlighten the students about the freedom fighters who fought for the freedom of our nation. The students were assigned different roles of respective freedom fighters and they took immense gratitude to prepare the slogans and dialogues with proper costumes. Grades I, II and III were engaged in showcasing their artistic talent in the activity “Freedom of Expression”wherein the topics were provided and the young artists presented an exceptional art work related to the National Flag and history of Indian independence. Young Chef Activity was conducted in Grade IV and the students prepared the tri-coloured sandwiches and tempting dishes depicting the feeling of patriotism and sincerity.The students of Grade Vwere bestowed with the opportunity to display the confidence, expression and talent in Creative Writing Activity on the theme ‘Republic Day’. Grade VI was engrossed in Colouring Activity. The students of Grade VII and VIII reflected the emotions in the form of Essay Writing Activity.
The celebration concluded with a promise to work hard together in peace and harmony, united and strong in order to become the strength of Nation and reach the maximum heights of success.
