A word- chain activity facilitates to learn new words. It helps to test memory skills and on the spot thinking. Word games benefit the students to enhance their literacy skills and have fun at the same time.
An activity ‘Word –Chain’ was conducted from 3 February 2020 to 7 February 2020 (according to third language period) in order to improve the speaking skills and vocabulary of the students.
The whole class was divided into small groups and students were supposed to speak a word that begins with the last letter of the word given by the facilitator. They continued building a chain of words by adding topic related terms to it until all links have been completed. The winner group was announced who completed the chain at the earliest.
The activity encouraged the students to memorise the words through this fun game.
The assessment was based on the parameters like content, vocabulary, language skills and time taken.
